Hello,

I hope you can help me.

I have been the weekend of 19-20th of April to Normandy in
France. We have visited the World War II site Longues Sur Mer.

Afterwards I have been to the Normandy American Cemetery and
Memorial. No need to say that we were emotionally impressed.

At the cemetary we met a veteran of the WWII. Unfortunately we
forgot to ask his name.

The following information I have in order to request if you
could obtain his name and his adresse. We would like to write him
a letter and thank him once again for the great job he did.

1/ He was from Pennsylvania

2/ He disembarked at the 6th or 7th of June at Omaha beach

3/ He was with the 29th division

4/ in July, about one month later he got wounded by a sniper in
the neighbourhood of Saint-Lô.

5/ After he was wounded he got cured and afterwards he went to
Belgium. He had worked in Charleroi and Namur.

6/ We have seen at the cimetary that he has visited the grave
of his friend who died the 9th of June 1944: Private Jesse A.
Miller, 175inf. 29 Division, Virginia

As his friend was with the 175 inf. we think he must have been
to the same inf. division.

We would be so happy if we could obtain his name and adress.

If you know other people who could help us, please do give me
the necessary information.

Thanks for your help.

Best regards,

Yves Botte
